Sustainable Lumber Company

Every board from Sustainable Lumber Co. starts with wood that has a story, whether it’s reclaimed from an old structure, salvaged from beetle-killed forests, recycled, or harvested from sustainably certified sources. The Montana millwork company turns that material into handcrafted flooring, wall paneling, and ceiling boards at a plant located in a small rural Mennonite community, where eleven families share the work of milling and finishing each order.

Builders, homeowners, and designers across the country use Sustainable Lumber Co. products in everything from weekend DIY projects and backcountry cabins to custom homes, resort developments, restaurants, commercial spaces, and state and federal parks. The company sells directly from its mill, so there’s no middleman between the people crafting the product and the customer, and it offers factory-direct shipping throughout the continental U.S. Its approach, which the team calls Montana integrity, focuses on artisan quality, honest dealings, and responsible stewardship of natural resources.
